Voter Protection Plan
Free, nonpartisan voting information. Find a plan for your area. More areas are being added.

How it works

Choose your area, read your plan, and keep it handy.

1. Find your area

Choose your state, county or local area, and voting method. Check the election date. The selector lists areas with available plans.

Don’t see yours? Vote.gov can help you find official election resources.

2. Follow your voting plan

Read the steps and dates for voting in person or by mail. Follow the official links to check your registration, ballot, and polling place. VPP doesn’t ask for your home address or determine your eligibility.

Plans use reviewed information from official sources. Learn how we check it.

3. Save or share it

Print your plan, download a PDF or spreadsheet file, or copy it into a document. Share a link using email or your device’s sharing options.

Downloaded and printed copies won’t update. Check the website for changes. Shared links keep the same election and voting method.

4. Get help when you need it

Contact your election office if instructions conflict or you need help with your circumstances. Follow its current instructions. VPP provides general voting information, not legal advice.
